Close to Boroughbridge town centre, the river is split to allow for a navigable passage past a weir next to the town's bridge. This is looking across at the village of Langthorpe from the island created by this split.
The mill in the background is part of an estate of new houses and has been retained and redeveloped, the other two buildings look in serious danger of falling down.
